There are some great activities to try out on Loop Head. Most are open all year round, so if you fancy a trip when there are fewer visitors about – you will find plenty of things to do.
Did you know you could take an alpaca for a walk? Take a baking class? Or how about an E-Bike tour around Carrigaholt and the beautiful country lanes out to Loop Head. You will start at the Shannon Estuary and end up enjoying the views over the magnificent Atlantic Ocean and the Estuary. Or maybe a horse ride at Carmen’s Riding Stables. . . or a guided walk with Martin of Loop Head Walking Tours.
You may see dolphins on the trip – you can never tell. They are wild animals after all. There is a pod of around 200 dolphins that live at the mouth of the Shannon. Luke is a very experienced captain and seaman and will do his best to find them.
